Happy Easter!! This is the day of new Life! Not just new life in nature, but also New Life, because Jesus rose from the dead. I will celebrate today, have a great party with my own family and with other people.

Mona Lisa SmileYesterday evening I watched the movie Mona Lisa Smile with Mattanja, my wife. It’s a great movie, playing in the 1950’s, about a female teacher (Julia Roberts) who starts to teach art at the prestigious Wellesley College for girls. The girls there are trained to become good house-wives and support their husbands. Some already marry during their stay in college. The teacher wants to free the girls, so they can persue any career they want.

This is one of the themes of the movie: freedom. A good example of this is when one of the girls is accepted by Yale University to a study Law. Although this is almost an offer the girl can’t refuse, she turns it down. She chooses to stay to support her husband. In this case not because she is obligated to do so, but because she wants to do this herself.

The movie reminded me of Easter. Because Jesus died for us and rose again from the grave, we are free as well. We are free to choose for Him, and to choose to follow Him, to do the right thing. Let´s celebrate freedom today!!
